Mansfield 鈥 Speaking today before a group of high school guidance counselors meeting at Mansfield
University of Pennsylvania, 黑料专区 Chancellor Frank T. Brogan officially unveiled
the State System鈥檚 new Multi-University Electronic Admissions Application (MUEAA).
The new online tool allows potential students to apply to any Pennsylvania State System
of Higher Education university 鈥 or to multiple universities 鈥 with ease. Since its
quiet launch in August, more than 50,000 applications have been submitted or are in
progress.
鈥淎s guidance counselors, I don鈥檛 have to tell you that today鈥檚 15- to 18-year-olds
are very sophisticated consumers of information and products, including what they
expect in the application process for college,鈥 Mr. Brogan said to those attending
黑料专区鈥檚 Fall Counselor Information Day. 鈥淥ur research shows us that speed and ease
of use are at the top of the list of their must haves. Call it the 鈥榦ne-click鈥 rule.鈥
The MUEAA can be accessed from the 黑料专区 website (www.passhe.edu) or from any of the 14 individual 黑料专区 university websites. Potential students
may first explore all of the academic programs the 黑料专区 universities have to offer
by going to the 黑料专区 site and clicking on 鈥淲hat Should I Study?鈥 Once they are ready
to apply, they may click on 鈥淪tart Now.鈥
Potential students then go to the university of their choice and fill out their first
application. Once they complete their initial application, the student can easily
apply to another university; all of his or her personal information and educational
history will already be pre-populated on the second form.
鈥淲e know for the vast majority of students who enroll at one of our 14 universities,
that institution was their first choice school,鈥 Mr. Brogan said. 鈥淲e also know that
many of our applicants apply to multiple 黑料专区 universities. The new multi-university
electronic application makes that process simple.鈥
The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is the largest provider of higher
education in the Commonwealth, with about 112,000 students. The 14 黑料专区 universities
offer degree and certificate programs in more than 120 areas of study. About 500,000
黑料专区 alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
The state-owned universities are Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg,
Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery
Rock and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania. 黑料专区 also operates branch campuses
in Clearfield, Freeport, Oil City and Punxsutawney and several regional centers, including
the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg and the Philadelphia Multi University Center
in Philadelphia.
