What is PA 2-Way Transfer?

PA 2-Way Transfer is the leading option for students who have transferred from a community college in Pennsylvania to a State System university to become eligible to be awarded an associate鈥檚 degree once they earn a total of at least 60 credits.  Through PA 2-Way Transfer, credits earned at the State System university meeting and completing the academic requirements of the associate鈥檚 degree are transferred back to the Pennsylvania community college.  That means credit hours earned at a State System university may be applied to both (i.e., counted twice) the bachelor鈥檚 and associate鈥檚 degree awards.

Do I qualify to participate in PA 2-Way Transfer?

To be eligible for PA 2-Way Transfer consideration, the student:

  • must be enrolled in a State System university;
  • must have transferred to a State System university with a Pennsylvania Community College as the last institution attended;
  • must have earned a minimum of 30 credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 (excluding remedial/developmental coursework) at the Pennsylvania Community College;
  • must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 at the State System university, and;
  • must have earned a total number of 60 or more college-level credits from the Pennsylvania Community College and State System university combined.
